"Simha", in which Balakrishna is doing a powerful role, is getting ready for release with high expectations. Paruchuri Kireeti is making this movie in Boyapati Srinu's directions on United Movies banner. Balakrishna got injured in his left leg while shooting at Mysore recently. He is being treated at Care Hospital and doctors advised him to take complete bed rest. With this the movie's audio release function has been put off. The audio will be released directly in to the market on Wednesday as scheduled.

If Aamir Khan can promote his film 3 Idiots changing his avatar and going to his mother’s home town Allahabad and Shahrukh Khan can get the International market to buy his film at the highest bidding rate then why can’t director Prakash Jha play up with his Raajneeti.???

Raajneeti is all set to release this June. So what is that freshness that will be added to get the audiences to the theatre box office window.???

Sources from the production house confirms, “Since the film is hard-core one, representing the politics of our country, Prakash Jha does not want to leave any stone unturned. He has decided to rock the Indians by making his cast and credits including Ajay Devgn, Katrina Kaif, and Nana Patekar to sing the live National Anthem…Jana Gana Mana. The film will be opening with this National Anthem sung by the star cast instead of the National Anthem that is usually incorporated in the other movies. So we better stand in attention for the National Anthem sung by the star cast of film Raajneeti! The dubbing will take place sometimes this week after Nana comes back from his short trip to Pune.”

Nana Patekar says, “Now-a-days, publicity has its own norms and ways. Well! Prakash must be having something in his mind. All I know that after I come back from Pune I have to go for dubbing. I have given my dates for dubbing.”

Asin becomes the Youth Icon of Kerala

The southern belle Asin who seems to win one accolade after another just added another feather to her cap.

Recently we come to hear that Asin won the title of Youth Icon of Kerala based on a public voting poll that was conducted over a period of 15 days.

A source reveals, “The poll was conducted for over 15 days which was contested between many personalities. However the Ghajini girl emerged as clear winner, since she is intelligent and representative of the thinking youth. She is talented, beautiful and has done Kerala proud.”

The latest buzz is that, after delivering a series of hit films last year, Katrina is looking out to do only solo project or at least get a better role. Katrina Kaif has a point to prove in Raajneeti. It’s not just the National Award that she’s aiming to get with her performance. It’s the long-winded rhetorical dialogues that she wants to get tone-and-pitch-perfect so that once and for all no one would ever say she can’t speak Hindi fluently. Katrina admits her Hindi has improved considerably after working in Raajneeti. “None of my roles so far required any specific fluency in the way I spoke. When I got a chance I decided to work on it really hard.”

Sonu Sood fractures his nose while shooting

The shooting of Dabangg in Wai seems to be quite an accident-prone event for the cast and crew. Only last week, Salman Khan was rushed to a local hospital after he complained of smoke congestion when a fire erupted on the sets. Now Salman’s co-star in Dabangg, Sonu Sood has landed himself with a fractured nose while shooting for the film earlier this week. “Yes…It’s true that I got hurt two days ago while shooting. We were shooting a fight scene between Salman and me that is a part of the climax. During the practice, one of the fighters jumped and his knee happened to hit my nose real hard. The pain was quite severe and I was taken to the hospital for an X-ray and scan. The X-ray revealed a fracture in my nose. The doctor advised me bed rest for 3-4 days, but since we were shooting the climax scene between Salman and me I didn’t want to delay the schedule. I landed on the sets the very next day after taking some painkillers and shot for some light scenes” said Sonu. One must say that Sonu has indeed shown true professionalism by continuing to shoot in spite of a fractured nose.

Actress Preity Zinta was appointed UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador and plans to combine Cricket and Bollywood to raise awareness about the deadly disease. The 35-year-old actress who is the co-owner of IPL team Kings XI Punjab, will donate 25 percent of the profits made by her team to charities selected by the UN. "The players of my team will be wearing ribbons for the cause of HIV-AIDS. Someone living with HIV will come on the field and toss for our matches. Me and my team will also be making field trips in Punjab," the actress told reporters here. Preity will be making public service message films for UNAIDS featuring herself and the players which will be in English, Hindi and Punjabi. She promised to ask for support from the film fraternity, who she noted are always up for a cause. "I'll try to garner support from Bollywood. No one ever says no and I am sure if they have the time, they'll be available for it," Preity said. "I am taking on a new role. 40 percent of the people suffering from HIV-AIDS are women. What is disturbing is they pass it to their children. The people suffering from HIV face discrimination which is unacceptable," she added. The actress who has essayed socially relevant roles in movies like 'Kya Kehna', Lakshya' and 'Videsh' is all geared up for her new assignment and said that she will be the "voice of the voiceless". Actress Shriya Saran’s Mission Istanbul has bombed at the box office, but she is happy with the way her career is shaping up. Back in the city for the shooting of a Tamil film Kandaswami, Shriya says, “Hyderabad is like home to me and it feels great to be here. But the important thing is I have given it my 100 per cent and have worked very hard for the film,” she says. Aamir Khan withdraws his resignation on Kapil Sibal's request

After all the hype and hoopla, Aamir Khan has finally withdrawn his resignation from the HRD ministry in lieu of the recent controversy regarding the altercation between him and renowned lyricist Javed Akhtar. Aamir reconsidered his decision only after the intervention of the HRD Minister Kapil Sibal. Aamir, in his letter to Sibal, said, "I have given a lot of thought to your request to take back my resignation and be a part of my committee. I have also read the letter of the other members have written to you reiterating their faith in me. The amendment to the Copyright Act (of 1957) is an extremely important process, indeed historic. In light of the above, I take back my resignation." Sibal had told Aamir to reconsider his decision after he quit from the panel earlier this week.

No sooner that the controversy around SRK's comments on Pakistani cricket players has settled down, the actor finds himself in yet another controversy related to the IPL. This time round, it's the courtesy of inner wear brand Lux Cozy, of which, SRK is the recently appointed brand ambassador. The story goes that, since SRK is the brand ambassador of the said brand, it was rest understood as to they will be sponsoring the uniforms for Khan's T-20 team Kolkata Knight Riders, besides a monetary angle of course. All was well so far. Now the twist in the tale is that the Lux Company is owned by the Todi brothers (Ashok and Pradip). They are the same Todi brothers who were charged with apparently leading to the suicide of computer graphics designer Rizwanur Rehman, a Muslim, after he married Ashok Todi's daughter Priyanka, who was a Hindu by religion. This news had made it to the national headlines and remained atop for quite sometime. This 'sponsorship' move by SRK for KKR with the said brand has not been taken kindly by many. That's the reason why it has sparked anger in many people's heart. Not just that, since it has a religious pinch to it, a few religious bodies too have come in the forefront to express their opposition. In the lieu of all this, there has been a meeting that has been arranged which will include artistes, actors, dancers, writers, performers and also a few prominent names express solid opposition to the controversial tie-up.

How many Bollywood horror films actually jolt?" - Sangeeth Sivan

Filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan is pleased that finally he has a horror film to his name. Though he has Sandhya (Jackie Shroff, Raveena Tandon and Ashutosh Rana) ready for close to a decade now, this horror flick has been lying in cans ever since then and never saw the light of the day. While Sangeeth did get recognition from successful films like Kya Kool Hain Hum and Apna Sapna Money Money, he decided to come out of his comfort zone and chose horror as the genre for his first production Click. "The idea was to jolt people at least twice in those two hours of Click", says Sangeeth in his trademark animated tone a day after the release of the film, "I am told that people are reacting at just the right junctures and as long as that is happening, I am happy." The film hasn't opened on a positive note at the box office though the reviews have been mostly positive with word of mouth (from whatever number of people who are watching the flick) encouraging. "For a film belonging to horror genre and that too with relatively newer faces, it is always difficult to get house full boards on the day of the release. I am happy though people are actually talking about the film now. I never intended to make a master piece but instead tell a commercial horror tale that has a definite storyline to boast", says Sangeeth in defence of the film. The double twist towards the concluding reels of Click is being much talked about and this is what is expected to entice audience to step inside the theatres. It is one of the newest ways that a story has been ended in a mainstream Bollywood horror film. Leave aside the shock value, it's the originality in the way Click takes a somersault towards the end that makes one forget the popcorn and SMS-ing and keeps one glued on screen. Really, one couldn't see that coming. "That was the entire idea; to tell something which couldn't be predicted by the audience. With all due respect to some of my counterparts who have 'horror hits' to their names, tell me how many of these films actually managed to jolt you? Personally, I wasn't taken aback in some of these films which have released over the last couple of years", adds Sangeeth in a matter of fact tone. In Click, just when one thought that you had cracked it all and got ready for the rolling of end credits come the double twist did make one all wide eyed. Really, these are the moments that make Click stand out from the likes of Phoonk, 1920 and Bhoot which were all good (and successful) in their own way but followed a set pattern. In fact the only similarity (to a little extent) in the end is with the one in Ram Gopal Varma's Darling but the fact here again is that not many have seen the Fardeen Khan - Esha Deol starrer. Hoping that word of mouth will succeed in taking Click to some distance, Sangeeth says, "The film should find patronage amongst the college students and youth in general. The feedback that I have received for the film is positive and that is encouraging enough."

Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif in Dibakar Banerjee's next

Imran Khan proved himself a man of the masses when recently he shot a cola ad with Kalki Koechlin shot by Dibakar (Love Sex & Dhokha) Banerjee. The ad, a slice-of-life love story about two strangers' chance encounter on a crowded streets of Mumbai shot over 2 days last month, had hordes of fan descending on location. Imran dealt with the situation like a pro, mingling, signing autographs, posing for photographs. The BEST bus hired for the shoot became his home for two days. Says Banerjee who's making his next feature film with Imran, "Seeing the discipline and drive Imran invested into the ad, I'm more than convinced I'm ready to work with mainstream actors." Banerjee who has so far done three feature films with actors like Abhay Deol, Paresh Rawal and Anupam Kher, is looking to cast Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif. Apparently, Imran was lost to the rest of the world for those two days when the ad was shot. Says Dibakar, "We shot the ad on a relatively lonely stretch of road in Malad. But the news that Imran was shooting spread and fans would swoop down every hour. Considering the tight schedule Imran would either quickly hide in his vanity van until the fans left or meet them in a very friendly manner." The BEST bus had character actors as Imran's co-passengers and Imran was soon friendly with all of them. Says the director, "All I can say is, Imran won more than a busload of fans in those two days. At the moment, I'm busy putting finishing touches to my release Love Sex Aur Dhokha. But right after that I'll get to work on the Imran project."

Priyanka Chopra makes animated video debut

New Delhi, Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra is on a spree of firsts this year. After winning a national award recently for her role in “Fashion”, the actress is now making a debut in an animated video in order to raise environment consciousness. Produced by Red Dot Productions, it is an attempt to inspire people to take action such as saving water and electricity, planting trees and reducing pollution, as a part of the NDTV-Toyota Greenathon Campaign. “It was the first time I shot for an animated video and I had to imagine everything as I was standing against a chroma screen… We were very sure about the fact that it had to appeal and connect with the audience and not be boring and preachy. The animation has made it visually appealing and interesting,” Priyanka said in a statement. Priyanka who is also the ambassador of the campaign, will be seen in a mix of animation and real life sequences in the video. Titled “Hawaaein, patte, paani”, it has been penned by legendary lyricist Gulzar and composed by musician trio Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy. In the video, the actress shows a polluted, dry and barren landscape and is looking for a solution. As she finds it, a green sapling sprouts out of the cracked earth. She hands the sapling to a little girl, who gives it to carefree young people. These youngsters inspired by the little girl hand out saplings to people and urge them to think of the impact of their everyday actions on the planet. As these people take further such steps, Priyanka’s world begins to change for the better. The video will premiere on NDTV 24×7, NDTV India and NDTV Profit Wednesday. Bollywood actor Salman Khan is called with different names in different circle. Popularly known as Salman Bhai or Sallu miya, Salman Khan is also called Chikna in the underworld. Now the actor will be addressed with a new name ‘Chulbul Pandey’. Yes, this is the unusual name that Salman will be called in his new comedy flick, ‘Dabangg’, produced by his brother Arbaaz Khan. Salman has done many comedies in the long tenure of his filmy career but ‘Dabanng’ which is also a laughter riot will see the actor in an altogether different role. Abhay Deol had almost got rejected for ‘Road, Movie’

Mumbai, Dev Benegal, who can’t stop raving about Abhay Deol now, admits that initially he had rejected him for the role in “Road, Movie”. “My casting director had given me some pictures of Abhay long back, where he was shirtless and those were all posey glamorous pictures. I hated the pictures and told the casting director that I don’t want this kind of hero for my film,” said Benegal. “Later I met Abhay in New York and while having a conversation I realised how he completely fits in the character of Vishnu in ‘Road, Movie’. He had that freshness and vulnerability that was required for Vishnu’s character. Hence I decided to work with him. It was funny that he was the same guy, I rejected earlier,” he added.
